J.B. Long and Mike Golic Jr. headline Baylor @ Kansas coverage from TNT

The No. 24 Texas Tech Raiders versus the Kent State Golden Flashes Division I Football Competition match kicks off on 24 October 2026, with UK viewers able to follow the action from 18:00. Coverage will be carried across several US-based channels, including HBO Max (usa), TNT (usa) and truTV (USA), alongside the broader world feed. For those following on British platforms, Sky and ITV are expected to carry the usual highlights as the season continues.

The live game will be called by play-by-play voice J.B. Long and analyst Mike Golic Jr., reporting alongside Allie LaForce. This is the lead Big 12 football team that TNT Sports announced earlier this year, with J.B. Long serving as the network's lead play-by-play announcer and Mike Golic Jr. taking on the analyst role. It is a pairing that has come to define TNT's first season as a Big 12 football partner.

A new era at TNT

The selection of J.B. Long and Mike Golic Jr. as TNT's headline commentators was discussed in a Sports Media Watch interview, where the pair reflected on a new era for the network. Mike Golic Jr. described the additions of supporting sideline talent as bringing a "fascinating vantage point" to the live game broadcasts, given their combined college and NFL experience. Their partnership has since become a fixture of TNT's Big 12 coverage, replacing the studio lineup used for Mountain West last season.

The matchup and studio support

On the field, Texas Tech legend Michael Crabtree will serve as a guest analyst throughout the afternoon, replacing Victor Cruz who is being enshrined into the UMass Hall of Fame this week. Studio coverage will feature halftime presented by Vanda Pharmaceuticals and postgame presented by GEICO, rounding out a full broadcast package for the No. 24 Texas Tech Raiders to Kent State Golden Flashes game.

For readers wanting more on the commentary side of things, the Sports Media Watch feature on TNT's Big 12 team offers useful background. Whatever the outcome on the field, this week's Baylor @ Kansas match promises another full live-game experience from TNT Sports.
